My Choice

Recently I came across Deepika Padukone's video of MY CHOICE.

Then I read about how people were criticising the video. Is it wrong what she said? I don't believe so.
Many comments I read asked whether infidelity was being endorsed. That shows peoples' failure in understanding the video. In my opinion, what it means is that every decision anyone takes is their choice, so are they themselves will reap the outcomes, good or bad. When a man fails to keep within the bounds of marriage, the blame falls on his wife that she failed to satisfy him but when a woman does the same, she is characterless. Why this difference in explanation for the two choices. Why are they not given equal standing?

A girl is asked to come home by 6 or 7, but why is this not imposed on the boy? They can come home early, let the girl frolic.
I know what the elders would say about my questions. It is the way it is. But why is it so? Who will make the change?
Living outside India, I, my sister and friends have more freedom. The type of clothes we wear, the time we come home is more liberal but as compared to the guys, it is different. When we walk into India, it is a worser situation.
Politicians and elders say that if women wear such clothes(choti-choti kapde), how will men keep their hands away. If the problem is with the boy, then why keep the girl at home?
Every decision we take is our choice. Let us take the choice. Be it profession, clothes, marriage, life etc. Whether you are man or woman the brunt of the choice is yours. So let the woman make the choice. Don't tie her within the bounds of the society. Let gender not keep a person from their choice. Let their spirits make free choices.
My writing is my choice. Your commenting is yours.

Think about the choices you have taken and that others have taken for you. Decide whether you want their choice is my choice or MY CHOICE IS MY CHOICE.

Losing my Grandfather

A grandfather passed away today leaving behind a grieving granddaughter. But one who knows He wouldn't want tears in those eyes that he looked into as he told her many a stories. Granddad, I know that I have to make you proud and stand by your son's side as he breaks from inside.
Love you Grandfather, I always will. A man who I looked up to for love and warmth. Will always remember you grumbling about the many medicines you had to drink but now the chair that will always sit empty burns in my mind and heart.
Will always miss you forevermore.

To a dear teacher

Dear Ma'am,
I would like to thank you for your love and care towards me.  You are an awesome teacher who has inspired me to always keep an open and positive mind towards anything.
You always supported me when I faced any hardship. You were the best role model I could get. I always admired your way of handling things and hope that one day I will be able to do it the same way. Even when I was about to go off track and do something wrong, just thinking about how bad you would feel prevented me. You were a mother-like figure for me. You watched me as I made my first tries and supported me when I failed at the same time cheered for me when I did well. Thank you for always being there when I needed someone to talk to.
Your constant support and love during the past four years has certainly changed me for the better. I hope that in the future, I too will be able to make a change in someone's life as you have in mine. I learnt many things from you that will help me in the real world.  Knowing or unknowingly, you have created a deep impression in my mind.As I write this I feel tears in my eyes but I know that you will always be there for me no matter where I am.
I once again would love to thank you for your love, care and expertise. I would also like to thank you for the many reference letters you have written for me and the many essays you have corrected.
Thank You so much. :)
With lots of love,
 Princess
