A visit to India through the eyes of An NRI

The excitement bubbles through you as the day to board the plane approaches. Once you board the plane, your thoughts move to meeting your relatives. The fluttering of the heart as you see your relatives at the arrival terminal is just wonderful. The thought of sitting in a car with 12 other people is just another adventure. Saying a silent goodbye to the airport is a moment to cherish. Eating your first bubblegum after a year is just awesome.
On reaching your grandparents home and seeing how old they have grown is just terrifying.
The nosy neighbours who want to know who the guy standing next you is, the huge billboards and people speaking the native tongue everywhere are part and parcel. The looks you get when you get when you accidentally speak in English in a store where your parents are trying to haggle with the price and the pitiable stare you get from people when you express your inability to read or write the native language is just an aspect. The all time talk about your attire, your stance, your way of talking and concocted stories about your life are bad examples for some and good for others.

How the time goes you don't realise. The next moment, you are saying a tearful farewell till next year.

At the crossroad

Oh god, standing at this crossroad of life, I really don't know what to do. Relatives and friends tell me to follow my heart while in secret stating their hopes.
"You should become a doctor, you are so empathetic."
"Become an HR manager, i think you have got people's skill."
blah, blah, blah and finally "follow your dreams."
my my like i am gonna follow yours, lolz.
